Excitement is Building

Welcome to my Cambodia blog! Please share this link to anyone interested in my upcoming trip to Cambodia. It is much more efficient than trying to email everyone I know. However, on occassion, many of you can expect a personal email from me.

Last night Asia's Hope had a fundraiser dinner in Worthington at Asian Cusine. It was well attended, and we are excited that many people chose to sponsor a child for 2005. In addition, there was a silent auction to raise funds. There were many items from Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Makes me want to hurry to the Russian Market (Toul Tom Pong), which is just steps from our Phnom Penh guesthouse.

Three weeks from Tuesday I leave Columbus, headed first to Italy to meet up with my middle son, David, in Venice. After meeting up David and youngest son John in Florence for a few days, I'll finally be on my way to Cambodia on June 22, where I will stay until July 19.

I will do my best to follow in the footsteps of my friend and Asia's Hope board member, John McCollum. Many of you followed his adventures in Cambodia this past February through his blog "The Other Side of Dawn." I will post photos and text as I am able to given the tenuous reliability of Internet Cafes in Phnom Penh.

I am truly fortunate to make this return trip. My 2004 trip was over so quickly, and I am looking forward to a very productive time at the orphanages, student centers, teaching at Norton University, and pursuing micro-enterprises. I am further blessed by all the support I have received, both financially and in prayer.

More as the trip draws closer. Please add this link to your Favorites, and spread the word!
